    Studer A820 Headblock #2 gets returned



    Five weeks ago, i pulled the first of two Studer A820 and had it returned about two weeks ago.

    About two weeks ago, I pulled my second Studer A820 headblock and sent it off for evaluation, relap, and scrape flutter roller cleaning/lubrication.

    This week, my second headblock has been returned and installed. Last evening, I spent the entire time going through calibration adjustments for play and record at all speeds.

    Today, I played tapes at 15ips and 30ips to enjoy the fruits of this project on my second A820 for an enjoyable afternoon.

    Two pictures are shown below. One is the headblock after removal from package. The second picture is the headblock installed on the deck after completing a repro and record calibration sequence.

        Not this time. I didn't chart the FR response after the calibration procedure on this go-round.
