    God bless them for offering $328 for my SP3 . I'm not sure this would be any different than what a dealer might offer regardless of the sale.

    ARC did this last year as well - must be successful for them. More specific qualifiers this year and a lower allowance (45% vs 75% last year.)

      Oh, I think it is marketing crafty- certainly stirs interest during a shoulder season for audio. I just don't believe it is genuine in terms of any pure offer.

      It is clearly a sales program, albeit a successful one.

      To be a truly valid trade in program:
      1) It needs to be permanent. It's needs to be based on the value of the product, not the date on the calendar.
      2) It needs to be based on real current retail used market values. That is, you need to receive in trade the same value you would get selling the product yourself.
      3) Ideally the manufacturer would have a refurbishing/warranty program for the trade-ins that would allow consumers to acquire them at current retail used market values.

      Of course, ymmv.
