AVID INTRODUCE NEW ACUTUS ‘DARK’ LIMITED EDITION

The Acutus DARKTM Limited Edition, is the latest design from AVID HIFI.

First seen at Munich’s High End Show this much revered design will be available in a
    matte black finish.

It still carries the same 10KG metal platter driven by twin drive belts which are propelled by our legendary hand-built motor and calibrated DSP controlled Variable speed PSU, ensuring perfect pitch and stability control. Our fully adjustable three- point suspension mechanism is employed to further isolate the Acutus DARKTM Limited Edition from all outside interference whilst allowing easy fine tuning for a perfect setup.

On top of this is our unique single point thrust bearing, designed to exacting tolerances to direct bad vibrations and energy away from the playing surface into the sub-chassis. This ensures further, in combination with our exclusive single stage clamp that only the good vibrations make it to the needle.

Individually numbered, just 100 pieces of the DARK are available with 20 pieces of the Reference and 10 pieces of the Reference Mono versions also available.

And what is the extra cost for this I hear you ask? It’s less....26% less.

ACUTUS DARK £10,000; ACUTUS REFERENCE £18,500 ACUTUS REFERENCE MONO £30,000

I'm really glad they figured out how to remove bad vibrations and bad energy away from the playing surface and only allow good vibrations to reach the needle.

isnt that normal audiophile parlance for the cure-all for everything that plagues our audio systems? try to find a post or description of some new doodad that doesn't "control resonances" or "damps vibrations" the people that write press releases and ad copy know audiophiles lap that stuff right up

Rob-I really think you are onto something and it probably deserves its own thread. Some audiophiles are in a race to suck all of the life out of their systems and they don't even realize it. Gear sitting on an isolation device that sits on another isolation device. "Grounding" boxes that aren't grounded to anything connected to other "grounding" boxes so you get 2 x 0 grounding. Resonance control feet that makes your system unlistenable until the magic breaks in and now you have a 3D stereo system with sounds wrapping all around you. I agree the race is on to beat resonances and vibrations into "the ground." This market has a very bright future.
