  • Hello from Hamm in good ol Germany

Hello friends of good analogue repro.
My name is Michael Bönninghoff and i am living in Germany. I have been infected with the virus analogue in the late 70. After i heard a Dual 1229 with a AT20SLa on a JBL Paragon in the system of an analogue freak in my nearest in the age of 13 it was clear thats my cup of tea ;-). During school time without the money needed for a system i was thinking about, i started to built my own amps, speakers cables...aso. I did an apprenticeship in electronics and further on an engineering diploma. I started my first job as an service engineer in a local broadcast station. Next step was the moment i met Dirk Brauner of Brauner Microphones. He offers me the position of a senior engineer in his factory. I did it and a really successful collaboration started. He gave me boundless freedom to be as creative as i could. We did such great mics together like the VMA the VMX and the Valvet X. 8 Years ago i started with my best friend Ansgar Sperling the company Sperling Audio with the aim to build finest analogue audio repro devices.

Best regards and happy x-mas to all of you

    Michael Bönninghoff

I have been enjoying it for the past couple of months and its by far the best analog experince I have had in my system to date. Your Motor is so much better than the Microcontroller AC Motor I was using before.

                      Welcome Michael
Enjoyed reading about your background, and your current system. If I knew now what I did not know then I would have scooped up a few of those Dual 1229's. When I was going to university I also worked, as a technician at a local audio shop. The first project was a restoration on a Dual 1229 for the Service managers nephew.
