My name is Ed and this is my first post here on this forum. Some of you may remember a website I created years ago called the Cartridge Database. After I lost my free hosting for the database, I ended up giving away the database's data, photos and PDFs to the Vinyl Engine. That was my 15 minutes of internet fame.

I have spent years over on other forums but somehow missed out on this one.

I have a modest system that includes a VPI Prime, an Ortofon Quintet Black S and a Liberty Audio B2B-1 phono preamp as the analog front end. I look forward to spending some time here.

    Right back at ya Ed....Howdy!

Very interesting site with some wonderful links. I'll have a better look at little later.

I noticed the Arcam CDP. Nice. My first "audiophile-type" CDP was the Arcam Alpha One. I was doing more digital back then as my vinyl was in storage, yet I still wanted to have some music around me.

Unfortunately I don't own the Arcam anymore. I bought it new shortly after it was first released and it got very little use. I sold it last year but haven't updated the photos to remove it from my system. I've been doing lots of changes to my system lately and will have to catch up on the photos sometime soon.

                            Myles,
Thanks for the kind words. The CDB started out one day as a list of Denon cartridges only. It quickly became an obsession and I spent endless hours researching cartridge data and posting to the SQL Server DB that powered the site. It got out of control very fast and I was spending many hours each week feeding and taking care of the site (I'm sure you know).

To tell the truth I'm glad I am not doing that any longer. I liked helping out fellow audiophiles but too little time was being left to live and enjoy music.

I like your site and the people here seem to be very nice. That is sometimes hard to find on other forums. Most of my time has been spent on the Vinyl Asylum with an occasional stop by over at the VE. I hope to spend a good bit of time here.

Have a good weekend (its Friday as I write this).
