  • Analog in Seattle

    Hello all,

Glad to be here, to learn and to share. My audio activities do include my commercial interests as a dealer representing / installing analog products, however I love to talk about DIY, fun and real audio innovations and music! I formerly owned & operated a Neumann VMS70 based vinyl mastering studio so I have huge respect for the studio process- in fact I consider that my path has led me towards the audiophile, away from it, and then back but with a 'seasoned perspective'

We certainly crossed paths on the mastering forums some years back. Truth be told I'm not sure we ever met in person. Should rectify that I Sold the studio off around 2007ish...

Glad to have you aboard Erik! You are among a lot of analog fans! You carry some cool new analog products! I had been following the Torqueo as it seems an outgrowth of this Italian obsession with and love for idler drive tables! They look beautiful and beautifully made to boot!

You know some 78 rpm stereo test pressings from Classic Records occasionally come up on ePay?

Reference Recordings once did some 78 rpm stereo test pressings and JTH said if you think our 45 rpm releases are good, you should hear the 78 rpm. What do you think? 78 rpm stereo D2D?

Well its kinda like 15ips vs 30ips. More should be better...sometimes its not. I see 78rpm as a vehicle to listen to more recorded music not necessarily a better way..

It is a great way of showing off the system.
