Hi, my name is JC OConnell. Ive been an audiophile and into hifi for about 40 years. Currently my main two channel system is all tube ( Conrad Johnson ) except for the power amp which is mosfet ( Amherst).
As far as music goes, I'm mostly into 60's and 70's rock, 50's and 60's Jazz, and classical of many vintages. I strongly prefer LP over CD, but I don't find CD totally unlistenable on a good system.
Magnepan 1.6 QR Loudspeakers, Amherst A-2000 MOSFET 150 WPC Amp, Conrad Johnson PV-10A Modded Tube Line & Phono Stage, Electrocompaniet MC II Class A Head Amp, Audio Technica AT-OC9XML Cart (Stereo) , Graham Engineering 2.2 Tonearm (Stereo) , VPI Aries-1 Turntable (Stereo) , VPI Clamp, Denon DL-102 Cart, (Mono) , Luxman Tonearm (Mono) , Kenwood KD-500 Turntable (Mono) , Michell Clamp, Marantz 20B Analog FM Tuner, Pioneer SACD, Onkyo DX-6800 CD Transport, DIY 24B/192K DAC, Sennheiser HD-650 Headphones, Headroom Max Balanced Headphone Amp, DIY Silver Interconnects

        ..
Forgot to mention, one of the reasons I sold my tube amp was I needed much more power to drive my Maggie 1.6 loudspeakers which are power hogs.

I'm a former 1.6QR owner myself. Hogs they are but what they do well, they do great. It took me a whole lot of speaker in both size and cost to get the enveloping feeling I got from my QRs.

I've always felt that Maggies deliver an awful lot for the money.
