  • New Version of VBulletin Coming Soon

    Hi Forum Members,

We are soon going to have online the newest version of vbulletin 5.2.3 with several significant changes including the addition of Messenger (FB denizens are familiar with this aspect of social media). Messenger allows people online to chat with one another.

"We are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of vBulletin, v5.2.3. This release contains significant new functionality. Most importantly, we are launching the software's new chat capability, vBulletin Messenger. vBulletin Messenger provides a new chat interface on top of the existing Private Messaging features. This new chat interface provides a highly streamlined way for users to communicate with one another. Users will be able to use quick-loading chat windows to have near real-time conversations with others in your community. Chat is particularly popular among Millennials and especially well-suited for use on mobile devices. Active chats are displayed in a windowed interface. These messages can include images, emoticons, attachments and rich-text. You can enable multiple users in individual chats, based on your private messenger permissions. vB Messenger is turned off by default.

vBulletin 5.2.3 contains a variety of other improvements including enhancements to its responsive experience. With this release, the navigation bar has been enhanced when viewed on smaller screens to ensure that all elements properly collapse into a drop down menu for more efficient use of the screen real estate."

Enjoy and will be anticipating your feedback.

Nothing to worry about but audionirvana will be down for a few minutes tomorrow at 13:30 PST for upgrading to the newest version of the vbulletin software.

    Thanks for your patience!

The IM messaging feature is now active on the forum. The top of the audionirvana page should be a little different with notifications and messages having their own button now.

To use it to converse with other forum members:

      1. Go to any thread and you will see a little dialog box next to the person's name. Just click on the box and write note or start conversation. This feature will only work with that individual.

      2. Go to your messages drop down box in the navigator bar at the top of the bar. Click on that and you should see last six or seven messages. If you click on those, you can talk in real time with the person. To start new, multi-person if desired, click on the new messages button and enter the name (s) of the people you wish to chat with. Once they respond, the navigator bar will show the discussion. Just chat then. You should be able to have five conversations if desired, at one time, in real time.

I have asked vbulletin to just have a start conversation button on the navigator bar that would make having to go into messages unnecessary also. Hopefully, they can do that in the next update.

Play around and enjoy the new feature!
