Myles - I was wondering of it would be possible to add another forum under the Music heading for Americana/Roots/Folk. I believe lumping it under simply "Blues" wouldn't properly serve the diversity or significance of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, the Child Cycle, the John Sr. and Alan Lomax field recordings of Huddie Ledbetter ("Lead Belly"), Vera Ward Hall, McKinley Morganfield ("Muddy Waters"), Aunt Molly Jackson, Son House, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Texas Gladden, Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton, and so many others.

It's easily done if there's enough interest. We just need to populate it with content.

Rust- would you be willing to take the lead? I certainly have an interest in so-called country blues, some so-called hillbilly music and roots music, old and new. Happy to learn as well as to contribute to the extent I can. One of the issues for me is that virtually all the early stuff was cut on 78, and since I'm basically LP only, I only buy transcriptions, many of which aren't exactly the best renditions. Just addressing the best transcriptions on LP would be a huge help to me.

Bill - I would be happy to do what I can. Word of warning, my tastes, like my discoveries are eclectic. Much of the new music is only available by download or on CD. Much of it is homegrown to one degree or another, meaning it does not always start of as analog. Mainly I would be providing links and information as I discover new things myself. I mean, who doesn't like Otha Turner?

Myles - How about Americana/Roots/Folk? Sort of a broad based title, but when you look at all of the influences that came from the old countries, the reels and jigs that led to Appalachian bluegrass, the tribal music that led to holler and reply which led to early blues and so on, it would have to be broad based.
