My dogs are scared of all of the noise, so I spent the 4th with them. I ended up falling asleep early. Its too hot to enjoy fireworks anyway.

When I lived in Ocean City, MD, they do fireworks as well as most. Bandstand with a full orchestra plus the fireworks timed in. Pretty sweet. I really miss OC.

I stopped going out for 4 July and New Year celebrations years ago, back home in New Orleans. Too many folks shooting their pistols up into the air. What goes up, must come down.

I don’t usually go out for free mass entertainment. if it doesn’t cost it isn’t usually worth doing. Even consumer audio shows cost $25 per day admission. I am in a building that throws a party for the residents for the Fourth. Our pool and deck is four stories up overlooking the bay so unobstructed view of airborne fireworks. I’ll usually go out there for an hour, eat, leave, go back for the visual show, etc. unfortunately my wife and I picked up colds this week and stayed in. No big deal. It’s fine.
