lemme see...list was 30 bucks at release, then it went OOP and became a "warehouse find" a year later for $99. We'll have a massive clearance sale at 40% off so the sale price is now 60, hows that for a bargain?!

fool me once. actually, this time they're really having a legit sale but i'm bowing out on principle. I'll pay 5% more and put the rest in Chad's pocket instead.

You picked it Rob. I have refused to give Chad a cent of my money ever since he bought all the Classic records stk and just loaded the price. He has not changed.

Shane, they're all doing it I just refuse to have my intelligence insulted over euphemisms like "warehouse find" or some bullshit like that. tell me its scarce which is the justification for the pricing premium or better yet, take it off your site and pawn it off on epay...keep 'em separate.

I'm always leary of OOP pricey reissues. Its a reissue for Christ's Sake. Another quality reissue can come along.

or repress them so we can all buy them at 'normal' prices. if it's a 'hot seller' today the risk of carrying excess inventory is somewhat mitigated as it will most likely remain a strong seller.

After trying several of their reIssues and finding noisey noisey vinyl, I won't buy the Hi-Q label.
Too bad, they chose quite a few great records to reissue. Heck, they've done a reissue of HP favorite Pineapple Poll w/ McKerras.

Among my purchases here's two I recall as dissapointing:
      - von Karajan Sibelius 5th on EMI
      - Barbirolli Sibelius 4th on EMI

The problem as I see it is that there is not a huge audience for many of these classical recordings and not that big an impetus for another reissue manufacturer (eg. Impex, Speakers Corner) to take the chance on another release.

Nowadays, retailers seem increasingly reluctant to say who is behind a given release when that is an obscure or relative unknown.
Hi-Q appears to be re-issued by Red River Export Ltd, registered in the UK; they used to be named RED RIVER MUSIC LIMITED, SC MUSIC LIMITED.
My guess would be records are made in China or Korea.
      Analogphonic is another dodgy label.
