Some wonderful titles going to be remastered by BG. Two of my faves:

    Lightnin' Hopkins in NY
    Clark Terry Colors

Hope they do more justice to these recordings than Pure Pleasure.

All of my Pure Pleasure LPs are super quiet and great sounding. Did they mess these 2 up?

Yes, agreed. I yesterday listened to Sugar by S.turrentine on Pure Pleasure : very quiet, silent, but really lacks a lot of life... Flat, clean but quite sterile.
Probably digital cut. BTW, i could not found any technical information about this Pure Pleasure / Analogue'' reissue serie.

The early PP reissues - of which the Hopkins was — were marred by horrible QC. Non-fill, stitching, noisy surfaces, etc. plus the transfers were really lacking. Just washed out. I have 15 ips tape copies of the Hopkins and Terry and the LPs pale next to the tapes. I wonder what they used as the source for the reissues. Me thinks Bernie will do a helluva lot better job.

                Hi

Already have the Abbey Libcoln and Mingus among the Candid serie.
All those reissue are digital source, aren't they ?
Same with Pure Pleasure I guess...
