  • "Pictures" w/ Sargent -LSO on Everest

I found a really good stereo copy of pictures at an exhibition/night on bald mountain with sir Malcolm sargent -lso in my collection.
Both sound and performance are exc. Thing is, I don't know if this is an orig. or a reissue. Its cat no 3053 on Everest. Anybody know
    how to identify an original?

Thanks for the link. the label matches type 3 so I guess its an original, just not an early release by the label. The jacket says available in stereo or mono so I'm guessing a mid 1960's release date.

CORRECTION : I just noticed the labelography lists this label date as 1960 only, so it is pretty early stereo, and it sounds like it too.

I'm not an Everest person but friends in the know say it's really important to get the earliest pressing. Apparently, they went down in sound very quickly.

The first label in the labellography is mono too.

FYI, Harry Weisfeld has quite a few second generation Everest safety tapes obtained when he purchased Bert's collection upon his passing.

I said I didn't think it was an early release, not that I didn't think it wasn't an early pressing. I haven't checked nor do I understand the dead wax nomenclature on the Everests..
