  • Anyone Here Going to the WFMU Record Fair?

This is a great show, and now in Brooklyn (where else, right?). I will be going Friday afternoon, for the early admission, get in early and get out fast crowd. It's great people watching, even if you don't feel like being spendy-- and usually enough different stuff, from the cheap and forgotten to the expensive and obscure to keep everybody happy.

Ha! I was just going to resurrect the thread because Ken reminded me about the record fair (hear you guys are meeting up. Me, I'll probably try and hit the show on Sat. PM because I've been invited out to the LI audio club at Jay Lawrence's on Friday night.

Ken and I are going to buy all the good stuff- you'll be left with some Herb Albert Whipped Cream records. To paraphrase Miller, from Repo Man, you find 'em in every collection.

Seriously? Some of that old psych fetches some money now. I was trying to find a copy of Sacred Mushroom for less than $200.

I went with Ken Golden, who is a fount of information about prog and jazz and a smart, funny guy. He turned me onto a bunch of stuff I had never heard. I'll post some photos here later, John. I also bought some reggae on Blood & Fire, was looking for the Marley box from Germany, circa 1982, nada. But, you buy what you find, not what you are looking for, right?
                      Going with Ken was fun.
