The Go-Betweens – 16 Lovers Lane - the perfect dreamy indie pop album?
original UK Beggars 1988 release -maybe 60gms vinyl - can almost been used as a Rolf wobble board 😉 been played literally several hundred times or more - still sounds perfect and this pressing is the best you will hear this album - that is the longevity of vinyl if looked after.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Adore - 2014 reissue. Easily the best reissue of all the Pumpkins albums Corgan did between 2011 and 2014. I understand what Corgan was trying to do with the MONO vinyl release back in 1998 with his Spector-ish wall of grunge sound but the wall is a bit too muddy - this version just works better imo especially with the slower songs, but luv both.

Morton Feldman - Rothko Chapel, For Frank O'Hara. I've had this LP since the late 1970s, and tonight was just the third time I've played it. Rothko Chapel is at times a haunting and beautiful piece of music. Beautifully recorded too. According to Discogs, the LP is worth close to $100 now!

Smashing Pumpkins - Cyr - new double album.
Interesting sound Billy has gone for. Gone is the lean, mean and bright sound of Shiny And Oh So Bright and into its place is a full sounding album that just wants you to crank it. It has a lot of bass with beautiful keyboards and Billy's vocals sound great - No real guitars to speak of - This is a BIG sound - Colour of your Love and Cyr sound amazing up LOUD.
Only problem is the vinyl mastering is cut low, you have to crank the volume and because it sounds so good loud, the coloured vinyl noise is more obvious in between tracks. This mastering would really sound superb on ultra quiet black vinyl. I chose the Orchid over the Ivory as generally darker colours sound better - sort of want to hear the ivory now.
Only played the first two sides so far, but so far its the synth pop album Billy has always threatened to do - excellent stuff.

Awesome pressing of Muddy Waters – Folk Singer [2001 Classic Records CHS 1483-45 Reissue 45rpm Box Set, 4 single sided 200g Quiex Clarity Vinyl] As I understand it, the original master tapes used by Classic Records and returned thereafter were damaged by the fire at the Universal Music Group vaults and cannot be used again. Don’t know what the MoFi plan is to produce the future One-Step, but I can’t imagine they can beat this pressing.
