I might be repeating myself here but in the days I studied with Philly Orch players, early 70s, no one I knew owned a stereo and if they did they had 5 records usually of someone internationally renowned on their instrument. Not in the era I am referring to. I really can't imagine a full time working player actually caring about how another conductor interprets when they face perhaps 30 or 40 different conductors every year with a change weekly. i sort of thought that was your intent. Don't forget that any established professional has been practicing and playing most any solo piece they perform since high school if not junior high if not elementary. They have heard every great performance they might ever want to hear on a recording and live for a long time. And soloists don't perform in a vacuum. What you get to hear is both the soloists intent and the conductor's too.
