How appropriate is this thread? See today in music history!

Perhaps our diehard Beatles fans can start a Beatles thread!

At this point in time, pretty much all of the Beatles music is nostalgic unless you were born yesterday and just discovered them. The very first Beatles LP I owned (and really, it was the first LP I owned period) was Beatles 65. I was 10 years old when Beatles 65 was released. Beatles 65 was the American version of Beatles for Sale except of course the song selection was slightly different and pretty much any EMI Parlaphone Beatles LP kicked ass on any Capitol version sound-wise. And yes, I'm attached to all of the songs on Beatles for Sale.

Beatles For Sale is a bit of a nostalgic pick I must admit. The white album is based purely on the sound. I think the short songs lend themselves very well to MONO.

Are you picking based on the sound or your love of the LP Johnny? The White album does rock from the mono set and so does Sgt. Pepper. As for Beatles for Sale, the best sounding version of this LP that I have ever heard is an early EMI stereo pressing. I need to do a head to head comparison between the mono version from the box set and compare it against a stereo copy that I bought from a guy in Britain. The Please Please Me LP from the mono box set sounds good, but it doesn't sound as good as my EMI Paralaphone stereo LP I bought when I was in my 20s and living in Maine. The mono copy doesn't seem to have the hard rocking edge and rawness that my old stereo version has.

Fave LP from the Beatles in MONO boxset?

For me it's a toss-up between "Beatles For Sale" and "The Beatles (White)".
