My favorite album, Layla, is number 9. Even Mountain made the list at 93. And so many other good ones in between. I'd be happy with this 100 for my desert island.

I'd have to say 1970 was a hard year to beat for great music.

To me '69 represents the most influential year in rock, sort of a watershed in influential groups. This carried through into '70 and '71. The Beatles last, Led Zeppelins first, the Whos opus, King Crimsons prog rock statement, Chicagos first and best, CS&n, Santanas first.
It is hard to rate the years, one way is to look a which has the most releases I own, and then there is the one which I consider to have the most influential releases.
Of course there is '68 simply because of Hendrix.

It sure was a terrific year. I'm always hesitant to pick a favourite year out of the late sixties through to the mid-seventies. The quality was just so awesome during those years.Dynavector DV20x2L MC cartridge - Genesis G7.1f speakers - Marantz Reference PM-KI-Pearl Int.
