  • Can you play better than a 16 year old girl?

So my brother in law sent this to me. My nephew who is a fair guitarist saw this and pretty much had his ego crushed.

Ludwig van Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement

I have to say her left hand technique is impeccable, as is her concentration to run through six minutes at that speed and complexity. And she did this at 16. I played for 45 years before arthritis stopped me, and while I did some styles well this is beyond me at my best.

    And sorry about the commercial.

Yeah, her technical proficiency is stunning, her technique very nearly flawless. Her cover of Dream Theaters "The Best of Times" written by John Petrucci as a lament for Mike Portnoys father passing is at the same level. I'm a rocker, not a metal head but this sort of thing is something else. A lot of classical overtones in the structure, and a very defined structure. One can hope with the proper guidance she becomes a complete artist and does original material of equal quality.

well, if she can play chords as well as she plays notes, she should be able to play anything
