  • List of all MM Bluenote 45rpm records?

I'm trying to complete my collection. I know it will probably cost more than the originals in most cases. I missed a lot of the reissues when I was sick for a little over a year a couple years ago. Now I'm in a position to regroup. I can't seem to find a complete printed list of them all? Any body have any idea how many in total they made? I have quite a few, but it's nice to have goals

Originally there was to only be 88 Music Matters 45rpm Blue Note releases. If I recall correctly the 88 releases was to coincide with the number of keys on a piano. Then they extended the number of 45 rpm releases. Then after the 45rpm releases they released two sets of 33rpm releases. I just checked the Music Matters website http://www.musicmattersjazz.com/, and it looks like the website represents all the titles, both 45 & 33 releases.

You can also check discogs https://www.discogs.com/label/192372-Music-Matters-Ltd for a list music matters releases.

Yes they extended after the originally intended 88 titles. Additional 45rpm titles, and now 33rpm issues of the 45rpm titles. I'm sure MM, can provide you a definitive list.

I counted 109 45rpm in the shop 45 section on there home page, but I think some may be missing. I have 79 of them now.
I need to go through and make a list of exactly which ones I have and then I guess start picking off what I don't have yet off the site that are still in stock. A few I saw, that I no I don't have were $80-100 a piece.
Actually I have 80, just checked and the Fred Jackson LP I have coming this week is one of the Blue Note 45 reissues too.

I should have all the MM LPs, both 45 & 33. Give me a day or two, and I will try to produce a list.

How close are the 33 copies to the 45s? Ive sent a request to them for a list so, who knows, maybe they have copies of everything they have ever done still for sale. I can only imagine how great your jazz collection must be, very nice!

Wow! Hadn't checked my email before I made my last post. Ron sent me a complete list of everything he released on 45rpm. 112 total titles and month/year they were released. I'll try and post the list here so if anyone else ever needs them. Just glancing through the list, It's just crazy the amount of incredible music they have put out at such high quality. They need to be supported, applauded, and encouraged to continue to do this kind of work.

Depends. They (Joe and Ron) think some of the newer 33 rpms are better than the earliest 45 rpms releases due to changes in the mastering chain made over the years. Now don't ask me which were the earliest MMJ releases. One that I do know was an Art Blakey 84029 mastered in August 2007. That's because I bought the test pressing way back then off of eBay. Joe and Ron were pissed that the person sold the test pressing then too. Was the last test pressing this person ever sold.

They put out only two records in (December) 2007. One was Art Blakey "The Big Beat" and the other was Horace Parlan "Speakin my Piece" These were the first two they released. You my friend are a lucky man, Treat that thing like gold
