Thankfully it's rare that I experience an earworm. I am however afflicted with an EYEworm that remains a constant....and I'm ok with that.

Most people mistakenly believe that it is a song about LSD, actually the "diamonds" refer to heroin.

There was this Wayne Shorter tune called "Footprints" that gave me an earworm for a month or two. It is just a whistle riff, really. The kind of tune one makes up while bored and whistling nonsensical stuff when you think no one is listening. Not working at it. Not really tuneful. Atonal. Somewhat dissonant. But in the performance of it with the Miles Davis Quintet it is taken to another level. From the "Miles Smiles" Lp.

Always the last tune I hear almost everyday. Either on the morning alarm or the radio on the way to work or home. At least for a while.
