  • Songs you close your eyes to!

The Critical Listening thread started by Alrainbow and the comments therein got me thinking about songs that I close my eyes to...each and every time. They are songs that resonate with me at a very real and personal level. Although I have many such songs, here are a few of the ones that immediately come my mind:

    Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Cat Stevens - Father & Son
Alan Parsons - Old & Wise
Kate Bush - The Man with the Child in his Eyes
Stevie Wonder - Isn't She Lovely
Dynavector DV20x2L MC cartridge - Genesis G7.1f speakers - Marantz Reference PM-KI-Pearl Int. Amp. - Oracle Audio Paris MkV turntable - Various Morrow & Valab/King cables

OK, since everyone has gone rock, I throw out a couple of classical pieces just to keep things honest:

            Debussy: Clair de Lune
            Handel's Messiah, Hallelujah Chorus
            Mozart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
            Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue
            Beethoven Symphony #9: Fourth Movement
            Dvorak: New World Symphony

            And a few others:

            Dean Martin: Blue Moon
Frank Sinatra: Fly Me to the Moon (though could be lots of choices here)
            Elvis: Love Me Tender
            Fleetwood Mac: Landslide
Simon and Garfunkel: The Sound of Silence (again lots of picks here)
            Dylan: Mr. Tambourine Man
