  • This is actually from Tuesday when I had a flight from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Los Angeles. Nothing makes a plane flight better than a good player (in my case, a Questyle QP1), good sealed headphones (Meze 99 Classic) and an empty seat next to you. For the short hour long connecting flight I used 1More Triple Driver IEM with Comply Isolation tips.

Pink FloydDark Side of the Moon (DSD files from SACD disk)
Pink FloydWish You Were Here (DSD files from SACD disk)
    GongAngel’s Egg (FLAC from CD)
KostarsKlassics with a K (FLAC from CD)
Bruce Springsteen - Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. (FLAC from CD)
Steely Dan - Countdown to Ecstasy (DSD download)
Laurie AndersonBig Science (FLAC from CD)

The rest of the trip I just let it play on shuffle…

My copy did not arrive from Amazon in very good shape. The package was horrendous.

sorry to hear that, i bought it locally and album was in good shape...

Amazon Vinyl packing is almost scary at times, and sometimes ok?

Amazon vinyl packing is so bizarre. Today I got an LP in a nice cardboard mailer...which was itself inside a larger amazon box. Overkill. Just the cardboard mailer would be fine. BUT - I have gotten LPs that were literally just put in a thin plastic bag. Awful. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to their approach.

      • Seal - self tilted first album. original German pressing. back when Seal cool - easily his best album.

A few 80's Minneapolis Alternative Bands that I saw on a frequent basis.

Replacements- Pleased To Meet Me - Strong effort from Paul Westerberg and the boys. From this album, they played their song "Alex Chilton" to kick off their reunion tour on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in 2015.

Husker Du-Warehouse:Songs and Stories- Kind of thrash alternative. Not quote as famous as Zen Arcade(Rolling Stone top 100 album of all time) Good album for genre

Suburbs- Love is the Law. Major label debut for the Burbs. Kind of short lived. Alternative with a surprisingly good dance beat. Highlights are Love is the Law & Rattle My Bones. Beej Chaney actually married a daughter in the Cargill Family. This must have caused generations of therapy for the family members.

Change of genres as night wears on

Nanci Griffith- Last Of the True Believers- 1986 recording on Philo. I first saw her on Austin City Limits playing mostly from Once in a Blue Moon album. Lyle Lovett sings back-up on this album & Once in a Blue Moon. Excellent songwriter and solid band backing her. Saw her live numerous times at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis(Excellent Venue)

Lucinda Williams-Car Wheels on a Gravel Road- Lucinda Williams moved to Minneapolis. God knows why. I have seen her a couple of times at the Dakota Jazz Bar. This album won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk album in 1998.

Chris Pureka-Back in the Ring- Very well recorded Folk rock. I believe she calls Portland, Oregon home. I saw her at 7th St Entry a couple of times(Small venue owned by First Ave) Very good show. Pretty convinced that I was one of the few straight people at her show(not that this matters)

            • I like really intense music at times. The last cut "Si Senor The Hairy Grill" is over the top. [this Promo pressing cut at Masterdisk is exceptional]

                  • Erato recently reissued the Bach harpsichord recordings by Scott Ross (11 CD boxset or download). I bought the electronic download from Qobuz last week. I am good for almost 13 hours of musical bliss.
