    • Another excellent AP reissue from years ago from the once thought lost stereo masters. Gotta love the drum dynamics and audience sound. Click image for larger version

          • Chicago Transit Authority 50th Anniversary (Rhino: RR1 76171)

This is a LP that I have several issues of and I had some hopes of a nice reissue. Not so. The new remix is polite sounding with some of the excitement removed from the last Rhino reissue of this title (R1 76171). If you want a quality reissue look for the last Rhino pressing of this title (R1 76171) which was outstanding in every way. This reissue is well made and pressed beautifully but the remix takes too much of the great Chicago sound away. Save your money. Someone named Tim Jessup remixed this release. Either he has other ideas of what makes a great sounding LP or the monitors used were not very neutral. In either case the results are disappointing.
NOTE: I also spun Rhino R1 76171 to compare the two reissues and there is no comparison. Rhino's last effort was far above a better pressing of this title. If you love this LP and do not have the Rhino R1 76171 issue, try and find yourself a copy. It is superb and far better than the original Columbia pressing. I worked with another Audiophile and we compared this pressing to several other pressings of the same title. The Rhino R1 76171 reissue is superb in every way and worth your money.

The Flying Burrito Brothers: The Gilded Palace of Sin (Intervention Records IR-012, SP 4175)

This is a great reissue with stellar sound, beautiful cover art and excellent pressing: https://www.interventionrecords.com/...palace-of-sin/
Highly recommended if you like Country Rock.

Bon Jovi: Slippery When Wet (Mercury 28PP-1025)

This Japanese pressing of this 1986 classic is always a great one to rock the house. Outstanding sonics on this Japanese pressing.

Joe, do you recall the retail list price? supposedly they were only sold online through a site CSNY set up. If you go to the site now they still have the CDs but it redirects you to their Amazon store.

I think they were $500 originally. The damn box probably cost $300.
