    Cafe Blue - Unmastered - Wow!




    Received the 'Un-mastered' Cafe Blue on SACD today and all I can say is WOW! This is the version they should have put out first! Richer mids, more palpable voices and instruments that aren't drowned out in (artificial?) reverb like the other masters. I compared to the MoFi SACD that I have and the Un-mastered version beats it handily! Highly recommended!

    Still deciding if this is pretentious fluff music.

      TBH, that's how I feel about her music now. But when the first few albums came out, including this one, man I was floored! I think Companion is my favorite. But her dark rhetoric can get tiring listen after listen...

      But if you like the above album, and there are a few tracks I really like, this is the version to get (on digital).

        I like Companion and Split too.

        Did you hear the reissued Cafe Blue LP? There's less reverb on that reissue too. But I totally agree that reverb is annoying. Because of that, I like the listening to her group sometimes more than her singing.
