Hi to all, and thanks for invitation!
Thanks for adding post about us!
This tape is a record of string quartet #9 Bethooven, op.59 part 3 C-dur.
That our release included: one metal reel special made for us, booklet, and, sure, original hand made wood box. We use for that release tape SM900 for saving dynamic range of record.
We ready for issue second release, but not now.
If anybody have a question - ask me!)

I'm assuming the 7.5ips version is 2-track with NAB EQ (50/3150usec)?

For 7.5 ips, NAB (50usec) is the preferred EQ. CCIR/IEC EQ for 7.5ips is 70 usec which will have more noise.

Dear friends! I presented for you - four release of our label - is a live rhythm and blues album called ‘William James Mead (The SharpeeZ) & Friends’. The album is the fourth release from Reel To Reel Tapes Russia in cooperation with Boris ‘The Blade’ Litvintsev and his Hot Draft Productions team, as part of their acclaimed ‘British Blues Masters – Moscow Sessions’. The album was recorded 100% live on February 2019 at one of Moscow’s premier clubs and is full of the kind of energy that British R&B band are famous for. Together with an excellent Moscow band featuring Andrey Sorokin on lead/rhythm guitar, Vassiliy Rogozhin on bass and piano and Mikhail Danilov on drums, Mead and his Russian band remarkably never missed a beat. As Bill explains: “I always wanted to do this, but wasn’t sure about the idea of fronting a pick up band at very short notice, but these guys were so professional. They learnt every note and every stop and start. By the second set we were really grooving. They are first class musicians and a pleasure to work with.”
William James Mead originally made his name in the late 70’s with Mod revivalists Rebel and is the founder member of maximum British R&B band The SharpeeZ. He’s a veteran of the British Blues scene and continues to export that unique musical style by touring extensively in Britain and Continental Europe. The SharpeeZ play over 150 gigs a year, performing regularly at major Blues festivals and clubs in Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, France and Spain, etc. Back home in the UK, the last 12 months has been the band’s busiest yet, including appearances at The Colne Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival and The Skegness Rock & Blues Festival.
William James Mead is the band’s guitarist, vocalist and main songwriter. His excellent songs are characterized by a rigid riff structure, typical of the British rhythm Blues in the 70’s and 80’s. He’s a skillful old school rhythm guitarist, and a very strong songwriter with the emphasis on miniature narratives with big melodies that emphasize a groove. He’s influenced by Tom Petty, Free, The Rolling Stones and Rory Gallagher, while British R&B fans might also detect The Pirates, Dr. Feelgood and Nine Below Zero as influences.
The SharpeeZ formed back in 1984 and played the burgeoning London pub and club scene with the likes of Dr. Feelgood, Stray Cats, Man, The Pirates, and The Stranglers etc. The band quit in the mid 80’s as a promised record deal fell through, but despite a break from the industry Mead kept writing, which led to a comeback compilation album called ‘Strangers’. He reformed the band in 2005 with a stellar cast including Brendan O’Neill – drums (Rory Gallagher/Nine Below Zero), Loz Netto – guitar (Sniff and Tears/Moon), Fergie Fulton – bass (Hokey Joint) and Clive Edwards – drums (UFO/Wild Horses). The SharpeeZ have since cut 5 albums of which ‘Mississippi Thrill’ and the well reviewed new CD ‘Wild One’ provide most of the material on this live album. ‘William James Mead & Friends’ recording session takes us right back to the 60s with rapid machine fire staccato rhythms as part of a passionate live set, full of great songs, surging melodies and great choruses. The British Blues Invasion is in capable hands.

And! We printed that on LP too!
Price for records you can find at our website- Reel-to-Reel-tapes-Russia.com

                      Dmitry –
The winner of international competitions, who holds the position of organist in the Anglican Church of St. Andrew in Moscow, constantly acts as part of the organ Duo with the titular organist of the Cathedral of Moscow Anna Vetlugina. As a pianist he collaborates with the Symphony orchestra «Belsound». He is the artistic Director and one of the founders of the ensemble of ancient music Capella’415.

Sir Charles Villiers Stanford is an Irish composer who also worked in the UK. From 1883 he was a teacher of music composition at the Royal College of music in London, and from 1887 he became Professor of music at the University of Cambridge. He made a huge contribution to the renewal of British music in the late XIX century.. He also published Irish folk music. In his works, the composer actively used the motifs of Irish folk song classics.
Peter Warlock (real name Philip Arnold Heseltine — British composer and music critic. He was educated at three leading English colleges. The greatest influence on his work had the music of Frederick Delius, Roger Quilter and Bernard van Dieren. Peter Warlock’s legacy as a composer consists primarily of songs and works for the choir. In addition, he is the author of a small number of works for piano and string orchestra.

The stylistic affiliation of his works to the period of expressionism is noted.

In this recording we present you an unusual and unique performance of famous works by various authors. As performers — our regular pianist Dmitry Maksimenko
and the grandson of Veronika Borisenko — one of the greatest Opera performers of the Soviet period-Artem Borisenko.

The recording was made in March 2019 in the Studio SmartAudio Recording lab with the use of professional equipment from leading manufacturers with direct mastering on tape. For the voice was used Neumann microphone C49.

Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov is the most prominent Russian Opera and Symphony composer and a member of the Mighty Handful. Since 1871, he taught at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, which since 1944 bears his name, where he has trained more than two hundred composers. Among the nearly 80 songs of the composer, «Oro» and «Prophet» go beyond the chamber music genre coming closer to the operatic scale. Both songs exist in the author’s later orchestral arrangement.

Franz Peter Schubert is an outstanding Austrian romantic composer. The main genre in his work was song, and song motifs also dominate his piano and symphonic compositions. During his short life, the composer wrote more than 600 songs, their diversity is extremely great: from simple verse songs to dramatic ballads like «Dwarf».

Hugo Wolf – Austrian composer, representative of late romanticism, whose musical language anticipated the discoveries of the composers of the second Viennese school. He worked almost exclusively in the song genre. Striving for complete unity of music and words, the composer called his works «Poems for voice and piano», saturating them with colloquial intonations, subtle nuances, deep psychologism. «Three songs on poems by Michelangelo» in the German translation by Walter Robert-Tornova were the last completed works of the composer, who suffered all his life from mental illness.

Artem Borisenko is a Graduate of the The Gnessin State Musical College and Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), prize-winner of international competitions, participant of the TV contest «Big Opera-2016» on the channel «Culture». He took part in Opera productions and music festivals in Russia, Austria, Ireland, Azerbaijan and Cyprus.
