Very interesting stuff. I noticed that there are a few albums that were not part of the original Classics reissues, including a very rare album - the Danill Shafran Schubert Arpegionne and Shostakovich Cello Sonata. I have a R2R dub of a safety master or a copy of a safety master that I bought a decade ago. The vinyl originals are at least a few hundred dollars when they come on the market. Shafran is an underappreciated cellist. Within the cello community, many think he was the equal of his countryman Rostropovich. Besides the tape, I have several recordings which Shafran did for Melodyia. The Reiner 1812 Overture is also very rare as an original - I paid pretty big bucks (maybe $100 or $150) 20+ years ago before Classics did a reissue. I've always thought that the Julian Bream Arnold Guitar Concerto album was a great one.

out of the 50 titles ( series 1 and 2) how many were NOT done by classic records? Seems like quite a few...

Ha! Reckon I’ve paid for a few of Chad’s vacations. Maybe even a car! 🤪

              I’ve had #100 for a while for Chad’s reissues.

Besides running out of money, am running out of shelf space.

Lots of prizes there. I’ve always loved French Touch though it is a little bass shy. Maybe Chad can fix that.

The Daphnis and Chloe, Bolero, Rachmaninoff Concerto #2 (there were two versions of this-one compressed and one not), Bartók, Petrouchka, and Power are other faves. (Of course now have the AP Power of the Orchestra on Tape now too).

I’m interested in the one’s Classic Records did not do. I have the others via Shaded Dog and Classis Records both 33&45. I have bought a few titles from the first series Chad did. They are great.

Yes, quite a few. From the first RCA group was The Sea by Munch, Alexander Nevsky. From the RCA/Decca group none, From the second RCA group ALL but Daphnis et Chloe Munch, Bruch/Mozart Heifetz, Bartok SPC Reiner, Tchaik Sym4 Monteux. Mahler Sym4, Capriccios Kondrashin, Tchaik Overture1812 Reiner, That should be correct since I bought all of the Classic Reissues when they first came out. There are still a bunch of RCA/Decca releases that have not been done by Chad - not sure whether they will be done. I seem to remember I have a Power of the Orchestra that Chad did earlier. IIRC it is a 45RPM. I just looked but I can only find my original and the Chesky reissue. Maybe it is a false memory or alternative fact.

Having the Ultra Tapes and the 45's Classic Reissues I probably will be a bit conservative and start with the ones I only have in the originals or the five I don't have.

I noticed looking at my RCA data base that most of the new entries were Sid Marks top choices, as well as a few TAS Superdiscs that were never issued by Classics.

I think the AP releases are much better than the Classics. I always preferred the originals to Classic reissues, other issues aside. OTOH, the AP and originals have different strengths.

Pretty sure Chad released a 45 rpm Power of the Orchestra. Just can’t put my hands on it. Liked it but thought the strings were a little hard. Now would love a 45 rpm Witches Brew.

I have Chad's 45RPM Power of the Orchestra, and like it more than the original shaded dog, but can't remember the sound of the strings... Need to give them a spin again soon.
