I wonder if there will be same sort of sonic difference between the 33 and 45 rpm Living Stereo releases as for the original Cat Stevens TFTT?

I wonder why he did pictures rather than pines?

I'm sure the Pines will follow but the Pictures might be the better sounding recording.

I just love her and it's one of the few CDs I play regularly, so the vinyl reissue is welcome news. I know it'll be digital, but MOV generally does a nice job.

I saw her live at the opening of the Towers Mega Store in downtown Toronto, which coincided with the release of this album. There were 3 of us and we each bought the CD.

As an aside...she's also pretty easy on the eyes!

  • I can feel the collective roll of eyes as some of you see this. my point is, if you wait long enough everything has its second wind and you don't need to pay collectors prices. im probably 'done' with this record and AFAIK its digital to boot. 200g reissue Aug 4th

Love the record but leaves me scratching my head, why waste all of this analog goodness on an early digital recording?

Yeah I just DO NOT get it on the Fagen either. It's a great album and a great recording...but shouldn't these limited edition vinyl efforts be reserved for analog masters?

They even use the tagline "the ultimate ANALOG experience"

  • I wasn't going to order the Fagen 1step....now I just pre-ordered it after being reminded in this thread...lol

I love the Holly Cole and I bet Chad could - even though it's a digital recording - do a better job than Classic Records. But I prefer Temptation over Don't Smoke in Bed. "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" is a long time reference and I introduced Alon of Magico to it a while back. That cut now makes the rounds at Magico. FYI I reviewed Don't Smoke in Bed for TAS 20 years ago (?) and spoke to Bernie Grundman about the mastering. A Sony 1610 DAT was sent to make the CD back then. I can't remember if it was also digitally recorded on tape but suspect so.

i bought don't smoke in bed at its release and carried the RBCD around with me to auditions and played the snot out of it. its kinda like Brubeck's take five, if I have to hear it at demo ONE MORE TIME i'm gonna commit harakiri. agreed on temptation, its a better record all the way around.
    Working...
