  • Was WISH YOU WERE HERE Pink Floyd's "Tommy"?

Reading through various articles (publications) and discussions with PF fans it could very well be assumed that it is. Certainly (IMO) nothing before and after could lay claim to this, although a case could be made (lyrically anyway) for The Wall.

I wouldn't consider WYWH a rock opera, but I would consider the Wall one.

I honestly don't know how to respond to that, but if that is your opinion...so be it.

Ok. I them live at Olympic Stadium in Montreal in 1976, but I don't know what that has to do with anything.

I saw PF perform Animals in '77 at MSG. And yes the flying pig etc. was pretty wild.

I stand corrected. It was July 6, 1977 that I saw the "In The Flesh" concert at Montreal's Olympic Stadium. It was the last date of said tour and the one where Roger Waters spat on an audience member. Our seats were about mid-way to the left of the stage and we were feeling quite mellow.

Haha! Found a Youtube audio clip of the entire concert that I was at!

What a great day! My ex brother-in-law and I started out with lunch and some cold brews at the landmark Toe Blake Tavern (men-only still in those days), enough weed for several joints and more beer at the stadium. LOL! We were tuned in at every level!
