  • RIP Butch Trucks

Allman Brothers, one of my all time favorite rock bands. Wore out Eat A Peach in college.

Butch Trucks, founding drummer of the Allman Brothers Band, has died at age 69.

There was a time when you got a contact high going to MSG. I'll never remember (NPI) that '77 Dylan concert there.

The Allmans Brothers played regularly at the Beacon Theater on Broadway. The would do IIRC a three week or so run at the place though I think last year was sadly The Allman Brothers final tour there. The Allman Brothers sold out every night too!

Yes there were two drummers. The Allman Brothers were inspired by James Brown, etc. Two drummers in a group though isn't as rare as one thinks.

When I saw Sting/Peter Gabriel last year, they had three drummers!

Just read that he shot himself in the head in front of his wife. If true, he obviously had some issues.
