    1964 : The Beatles meet Muhammed Ali (known at the time as Cassius Clay) when they are visiting Miami.

    1967: The Buckingham's "Kind of a Drag" hits #1.

    1968 : David Gilmour replaces founding member Syd Barrett in Pink Floyd. A high-profile acid casualty, Barrett has checked into a mental hospital. (speaking of!)

    1972: Neil Young's "Harvest" is certified Gold.


    1973 : The nationally syndicated radio concert series The King Biscuit Flower Hour premieres, featuring Blood, Sweat & Tears, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. (listened to his religiously and even taped the shows!)

    1974: Ringo Starr's "Oh My My" released.


    1977: Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light" hits #1. (written by The Boss)
