I have tested the latest EVO Doshi and it is seriously good. This is what the tape world needs, constant improvement of key equipment like head amps and tape decks. It needs to catch up with the attention phono preamps get, line preamps, power amps, speakers, etc. Modern manufacturers of head preamps are making wonderful strides. 5 - 10 years ago I didn’t even bother with head amps but now they have truly evolved, catching up with other more usual audiophile equipment.

Playing music through it though could use my old Thor Audio phono burn that takes a digital signal, drops the signal level and creates a reverse RIAA curve. There’s even a CD now that does the same thing.

Thank you Myles. Do you have the link to the CD? I think the website is temporarily suspended.

Myles, like the cable manager. I'm sure there's a categorical sound improvement.

I received my EVO phono last week. Hard to believe, but it is even quieter than before.
