Furutech NCF Nano GTX-D NCF-R AC receptacles
The best I've heard in my system beating even the GTX-D Au that I so liked. A bit quieter, more resolving and transparent than their previous model. Give the Furutech some time--just as if you rewired your AC line--to break-in. The system will sound a touch illuminated for the first week or two and then the GTX-D NCF-R will settle in quite nicely. And yes, the change is as great as adding a new component especially if you are going from a ordinary wall receptacle to the new Furutech product.
Kontak cleaning fluid
Cleanliness is certainly next to Godliness when it comes to dirty audio system connections. And out of all of them, THE most important connections to keep clean in the system is the AC plug (not to denigrate the male/female RCA connectors). Symptoms of a dirty connection typically include an upper midrange edge and at its worst glare and loss of system transparency.
I've used Kontak for years now because I'm adverse to any contact cleaner that isn't 1) easily removed if I don't like the sound; 2) becomes oily and oxidized with time (like Tweak did); and 3) doesn't improve the sound!
Symposium Ultra Platform and Roller Blocks
There are lots of different valid strategies for draining and blocking vibrations that affect audio equipment. But none perhaps is more cost effective and adaptable to different components than the Symposium platforms. At least in my case where I get different pieces of gear in for review during the year. The latest generation of Rollerballs are a must-have.
