Not sure would use as a platter mat but looks like would be great to put on platter when not in use to prevent dust and dirt accumulation.

That's what I do with my Pro-Ject RPM-1 Carbon, though I use this instead. I I just keep it upside down to use as a dust / platter cover:Steve Lefkowicz

The Hudson is white and matches the turntable. That's why i use it. I initially bought it to see it was any good for aligning cartridges in a low cost environment. It actually seems pretty easy to use and easier than the typical paper ones that never lie flat. For my Linn I'll stick with my Wally.
This is on loan and a pretty nice table for $500, but I will never buy a turntable that lacks a proper dust cover.Steve Lefkowicz

Why not use a traditional style dustcover over the turntable when not in use? You know, so you don't have to dust the tonearm, cartridge and every part of the turntable exposed to room atmosphere.

OK..that's one reason in favor of the platter mat cover I hadn't thought of.

A dust cover won’t work with my table. The arms stick out to much from the sides of the table. And only going to get worse with the new VPI 14-inch arm with no offset on the way.
-
I've noticed very few really high end or expensive turntables come with or will work with a dust cover. But that's totally fine. $300 to $1000 for a large cover for a table when not in use isn't a large percentage of a turntable priced in the five to six figure range.

I really dig the look and the color when lights shines on the platter pad. Plus keeps dirt off between listening sessions.
