  • Running out of record sleeves, what's best new productin?

Years back I bought a lot of record sleeves (LP) but I'm just about through them. Any recommendations on what is the best of the current production record sleeves?

I like the Sleeve City Ultimate Audiophile inners because they are supported on both sides by paper, and lined, and have a label cut out. They aren't cheap but they aren't crazy expensive, either. You can buy them through Sleeve City directly, and there is often a discount code; they are also sold on Amazon if you have Prime, you get free schlepping.
All of the current standard production are fine- the Chad "rice paper type" fancy ones, the MoFi's (which had an issue a few years ago with residue, now solved, it was apparently a bad production run); I wouldn't mind finding a source for plain paper, poly lined, label cut out without the glossy outer finish or heavy logo'ing of the Sleeve City.* I don't think I have any MoFi to hand, but if you want me to send you a couple samples of the Chad and Sleeve City ones, to see what you think, send me a PM with your address. No charge.
PS: Myles wrote an updated article on the subject which was published within the last year or so. I also wrote about how I separate everything into poly/mylar jackets, and sleeve the record outside of the jacket as p/o a "sandwich" to avoid the friction (and wear and tear) of getting a sleeved record in and out of its jacket.

*Sleeve City apparently sells these too, a few cents cheaper than the "Ultimate Audiophile"- I may try some, though I am reluctant to lose the credential.

back in the day I woud buy nitty gritty inner sleeves in bulk by the thousands , it was poly lined with a paper outers with a see through cut out for the label. in those days i used to trade rarities and 'spensive vinyl and no one complained. I had a few hundred left over that are 20+ years old and they still looked fresh and new, I just finished using them up.

I like the sleeves Bill uses, they're like the MoFi ones by a different name. none of these companies actually make their own, they're private labeled by a handful of mfrs. I am digging the Sleeve City ultimate outer sleeves that are like 2.5 mils thick, a really nice product

        Myles - https://www.bagsunlimited.com/c-165-paper-sleeves.aspx

I got a bunch of acid free 78 sleeves from them, decent product selection and prices.

They are not cheap but the rice paper sleeves sold by Todd Garfinkle at MA are my inner of choice. Don't get them if you state the LPs inside the sleeves though. Sleeves City has good options for inner and outer sleeves in all price ranges.

also my favorite. To me they are the only inner sleeve which is truly static free. Records just seem to stay dirt and dust free. Yes expensive. I use them for my treasured LPs. The rest get MoFi.

MA Recoedings is a record company run by Todd Garfinkle. Besides the sleeves they make some of the best recordings going, and when put out an LP I make it my business to get it.
