The two Lowell Graham albums on the auction - Center Stage and Winds of War are both on the TAS Superdisc list, so a dub of the master (looks like what these are) would be very interesting. The copies are on Scotch 250 according to the pictures. One word of caution (from the Richard Hess website). "Scotch/3M 250 has also exhibited some tendency towards SSS." SSS = Sticky Shed Syndrome. So there is some risk here. May be unplayable or need a good baking. Can't tell from a visual inspection. (Also the listing means 10 1/2" reels not 10".)

Thanks for the warning on Scotch 250. CS and WoW are super sounding records, the playing not so much. I would like to own these tapes but not for what they might sell for.

Thanks Larry, forgot about Richard's site. Great resource and talk about having to err on the side of caution!

SSS is definitely something to be concerned about when buying tapes from eBay (not to mention a host of other things). Know of several cases of unplayed/tested tapes suffering from SSS. (IIRC, Reference Recordings used Scotch-just can't remember the type-for its recordings).
