    In the two years since this interview, even more companies are releasing music on reel-to-reel tape and Horch House has even announced their intentions to build an entirely new machine. And Greg is still churning out the UHA decks as fast as he can! The best of the best!

        Very cool, Myles, thanks for sharing that.

        I emailed Horch House after learning about their Tape Project. While still up in the air, they are trying to find a solution to fit in the $4K range!! If that truly happens, that would really help stoke the R2R flames!

          Agreed and think it would be tough to do. In their favor, they already have all the machining in place and people to do it. I know Volker mentioned to me that it's a break even proposition to sell their tapes so that might change things a little bit.

            Yes, it was Volker who mentioned that pricing. Even if they come close, that would be something! Here's hoping!

              Yup. So we then have Volker and Greg manufacturing decks. That will drum up more interest in reel-to-reel and hopefully more people will start taking the format seriously and that will result in more business for all. Then maybe another company jumps in too and we now have a critical mass to keep up the interest in tape!!! Plus these are "real" products in the sense that they are tunrkey pieces that come with real warranties.

              Not unlike what is happening with record pressing machines. Two companies are taking the plunge and hoping more follow suit.
