I have it. Very enjoyable. This is not my favorite genre of music, but I remember hearing Doc Watson, maybe 40 years ago or more. TP has definitely expanded my musical horizons. When I had lunch with Paul Stubblebine in late fall of '16 he was talking about a different album which he had recently recorded (classical) but not yet edited. So I think this opportunity came up and he couldn't let it pass him by.

Thanks Larry, I to enjoy listening to a different genre that I may not otherwise expose myself to.
I'm looking for my next purchase,it's between Hugh Masekela or Doc Watson so far.

            Thanks Russ

Russ, both albums are great. I never had heard (or heard of) Hugh Masekela and the Hope album is lots of fun. If I'm not mistaken, both Hope and the Doc Watson albums are only otherwise available as CD's or SACD's (in the case of Hope). So the tapes are the only way to get ever so close to the original tapes. Is it worth it? Only tape junkies know :-)

The Doc Watson is also available on LP, same program as the tape, drawn from the evening of May 2. The first three songs were left off in order to fit the rest on both formats. And the patter between songs was edited down as well. The CD box set contains everything from all four nights, all the songs and the patter as well.

I don’t have the Doc Watson but the Hugh Masekela is a must have IMO

I have to agree with Scar972. For me it would be a tough decision between those two tapes. Each would bring something completely different even though they are both live recordings.
