Tapeheads, what titles can't you wait to get your hot hands on? Rock, jazz, classical, whatever.

Myles, this list could get really big LOL!!!
I would like to see anything from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Dire Straits, Stevie Ray, Cat Stevens, ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones, I could just sit in front of my records and point out countless albums that I would love to have on tape. Matter of fact some albums I have recorded to tape cause tape is so dynamic I love to listen to it.

Chad's own APO recordings could all be put on tape, I'd want the Jimmy Rogers "Blue Bird" a few of the Jimmy Lee Robinson, Jimmy D Lane, Marquise Knox and Nancy Bryan. Beyond that its up to what he can actually obtain rights to, lucky for us its "Chad" we're talking about, I anticipate big things from him

One recording that came to mind during lunch that would be awesome on tape is Belafonte at Carnegie Hall! Additionally, Chad could license and release for the very first time, the three tracks featuring Eleanor Roosevelt! The tape could certainly accomadate the time but it would have to be a four reel set.

The latest British RCAs for sure! Some of my favorite LPs there.

Belafonte would be good, too, as well as the anticipated Dean Martin. The 45 is a true demo disc already, the tape would be simply stunning!

I like JC's list for Rock!

Did you transcribe them at 7.5 or 15ips?

If I had a 15ips deck and could afford the hefty pricetag these would obviously command my list would be substantial to say the least. I enjoy Classical and Jazz as well, but I'm a Rock n' Roller, Blues/R&B guy with plenty of Folk thrown in for good measure, plus the lovely vocals of Rickie, Linda, Sarah, Joni, Annie and Kate.

15ips is the only way to go!!! I wouldn't really bother with 7.5ips even though I would sound almost as good!!!

I don't think will see the British RCAs since the masters reside in the UK.

Couple of others that would be big sellers.

                  Jazz Party in Stereo

                  Aaron Neville Warm Your Heart

                  Rickie Lee Jones

Even the jazz album Blues and the Abstract Truth.

Now what do think would happen if he released Kind of Blue on tape?

If Chad wants to jump start his tape releases, he should go with some blockbuster rock and roll albums. Most of the complaints we hear about tape is the lack of rock and roll. As great of a recording as Dean Martin is (and I have the 45 RPM version from Chad), it could be considered fuddy-duddy music by those who only rock and roll. Never mind that the Dean Martin LP has some great jazz musicians on the LP and the recording quality is pure audio porn, for those who want to get into tape and love rock and roll, that will not get them excited.

I think Chad needs one audiophile, rock 'em, sock 'em tape just like the labels did at the beginning of the stereo era to get consumer attention. Hmmm...Mickey Hart's Rhthym Devis? What other ear catcher could he do?

BTW and it hasn't been mentioned-especially with all the sharp people here-that I'd be shocked if Chad didn't bring a tape or two or three to demo in his room at Axpona. Chad usually never announces anything without having a test pressing at the show. So stay tuned!

Which room will be packed more?

                      Chad's with tape?
                      Magico S7?
                      Wilson Audio Alexx?
                      UHA tape room?

I'd love to see "If I Could Only Remember My Name" by David Crosby and "Blows Against The Empire" by the Jefferson Starship. I mentioned IICORMN to the engineer who recorded it and he said tape people are the "lunatic fringe".

Audiophiles and tapeheads may be the lunatic fringe but we've had a bigger impact on the music industry than people care to admit! So make all the fun of us that you want but audiophiles will have the last laugh.

Imagine where we'd be today with digital recording technology if everyone rolled over like the above ground magazines like Stereo Review, Audio and other magazines like The Sensible Sound and newspapers like The New York Times (Hans Fantel) did and pronounced digital perfect? As HP penned, "stare into my laser, I am perfect." In fact, no TWO people did more to hurt, destroy and set audio back literally decades than did Julian Hirsch and Hans Fantel.

As a Neil Young fan, releasing tape of this title would be cool...for now, this 45 will have to do if I decide to open it rather than collect it.
