Sorry to rain on the parade. I will bet $10,000 that these vinyl reissues are DIGITAL. Again the record company takes the easy cheap shortcut.

remastered by James Guthrie and Joel Plante who did the CD mastering in 2011 for the Pink Floyd reissues.

Burnie Grundman will only be mastering for vinyl from the digital masters.

Even Amazon UK state that these are from the 2011 digital remasters.

I wouldn't take that info to the bank. Amazon is fairly unreliable when it comes to release info. I do and will agree that these will include digital processing.

Uh, so where in that press release that you linked to did it mention the LPs were being remastered straight from the analog masters?

It never said that. It only mentions that the original Analogue tapes were being used, but nothing as to processing/mastering.

Sounds pretty nice - perhaps lacking a little spark up top. I have nothing to compare it to sound quality wise but sounds fine - nice album too. German Optimal pressing and very quiet. back cover fold backs are photo copied - LOL. Nothing inside except the LP.

Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds - sounds excellent. I don't have anything to compare to, but this is the best sounding release so far.

Just picked up "Meddle" yesterday. Sounds very good and I am impressed with quality of the vinyl and package as a whole. I will buy more.

I think I might pick up Obscured by Clouds and Meddle. These are my two favourite pre-DSOTM albums, and I have doubles of everything after that...so why not these, eh! I have about $300 worth of pre-orders coming in Nov/Dec, plus I'm saving for a new cartridge, so I'm gonna have to look at my budget first though.

Well, I picked up a copy of Meddle and it sounds better than my decades old copy. And heaven help me I picked up DSOTM too, added to my largish collection of the original US release and many subsequent reissues including an old half speed mastered version. I would like to have a buddies UHQR of DSOTM though.

From the Pink Floyd facebook page. "" October 10 at 11:25am ยท

On 18th November 2016, Pink Floyd Records will continue the reintroduction of the Pink Floyd catalogue on vinyl with 'Animals' remastered from the original analogue master tapes and reissued on vinyl for the first time in over 20 years. 'Wish You Were Here' and 'The Dark Side of the Moon' are also back in stock on vinyl from October 14th and November 4th respectively.""

Heck I own most of the original vinyl LP's anyway.

Atom Heart Mother - sounds excellent - It's a lot longer in playtime than most other single Floyd albums'so needs to be cranked a little.

I was going to stop here as I have UK pressings of everything else. But, just read Hoffman and a couple of guys prefer the 2016 to their original Animals vinyl. This just might get ordered as my mid 80's UK pressing sounds like it could be bettered. need to stop reading

does my arse look big in this?

Most of the titles have been very well received. This bodes well (sales wise) for the earliest releases as VG+/NM copies are tough to find.

Does vinyl sound better than the digital releases , I think I own everything they have done and honestly it's great music with a meager sound quality
A prime example is great gig in the sky . Not only does every copy hiss badly but lacks anything in good sound ??
