Thanks guys. I will be writing about the Etna SL in the near future. It needs to break in and I need to get it optimized.Micro Seiki SX-8000 table with flywheel, SME 3012R arm, SME 312S arm, Lyra Etna SL and Dynavector XV-1S cartridges, ARC Ref 3 phono stage, Otari MX-55 tape deck, Ampex 350 repros, Roon Nucleus Plus server, PS Audio DSJ DAC, ARC Ref 6 pre, ARC Ref 75 amp, Parasound JC5 amp, JBL 4345 speakers, and Def Tech Ref subs.

I affectionately refer to the Dyna XV-1S as Big Foot because of it's profile in the arm. Regardless of cost, the Etna SL has some big shoes to fill so to speak. I can already hear there is more high frequency resolution with the Etna SL though. I played my favorite two cuts from Ricky Lee Jones It's Like This on 45 RPM last night which means Show Biz Kids and Trouble Man. These cuts will give some systems fits due to the bass and overall dynamics. Some systems you will never hear all of the bass that is there and on others that can reach down, you may not like what you hear. The Avenger/Etna SL combo made me sit up in my listening chair last night at what I was hearing with those two cuts. That was the best I have heard the bass definition so far.
Like the XV-1S, the Etna does throw a big soundstage with the Avenger. You get a life size soundstage with instruments that sound correctly scaled with regards to their true size in life. It has the 3D effect that allows you to 'see' the instruments in three dimensional physical space-they take on that type of life.Micro Seiki SX-8000 table with flywheel, SME 3012R arm, SME 312S arm, Lyra Etna SL and Dynavector XV-1S cartridges, ARC Ref 3 phono stage, Otari MX-55 tape deck, Ampex 350 repros, Roon Nucleus Plus server, PS Audio DSJ DAC, ARC Ref 6 pre, ARC Ref 75 amp, Parasound JC5 amp, JBL 4345 speakers, and Def Tech Ref subs.
