  • What's Everyone's Current Go To Cartridge???

What's everyone using to trace the grooves in their records? Even mono too.

I'm currently using the Ortofon A95 that is in for review with the new Charisma Reference 2 wood body cartridge waiting for mounting.

Then hopefully the new ZYX Universe Premium that will be in for review.

By that time, my new Atlas SL should be here and maybe even a new arm and table.

I have over 30 in my collection, but my favorites are an Air Tight PC-1 and Kiseki Purple Heart Sapphire rebuilt by Mr. Van den Hul.

I'd love to hear the Kisekis again in a modern tonearm and system. I remember the old Lapis Lazuli being a crowd pleaser back in the day!

I have an LL that needs a new stylus as well as two Purple Hearts, three Bluespots, two Agaat's (black and ruby), and a Black Heart. I'm eaten up with it - OCD on cartridges.

                Welcome aboard!!!

Wow that's a really extra special combo. I've only read about the Kairos but it looks like you can really and easily optimize the setup of any cartridge in the arm. I'd love to hear more about the arm!

I'd also love to be able to compare the A95 with the Anna like Andre did. The new Ortofons are really impressive if you have the gain!

                What table are you using?

I had the Goldfinger for a short time but it sounded to clinical/analytical for my taste. When I heard the Azule at the show in Larry's room a couple years ago, I just had to have it. I've heard the Anna, a couple of Lyras and a Dynavector. I don't feel any of them can compete with the overall balance, body and still have the transient speed without being over analytical of the Koetsu stone body.

Just to add some reality to this discussion, I am enjoying the Denon DL-A100 cartridge on a Nottingham 12" Anna tonearm.

Hi Myles.... The Kairos is a great arm... Upgraded from a Talea II which is no slouch as well... TT is a Wave Kinetics NVS.

                          Thanks for the warm welcome!
