It is awesome plus you can also opt for one line input making it a full function preamp. Clean, clear, ballsy but also sweet. Takes the lowest of the low outputs too and has the long missed option of a (defeatable) rumble filter. Downside is the long line one has to wait to get one. Last I heard Jules was backordered quite a bit.

It has almost everything except parametric equalization. Otherwise it looks perfect.

I dropped a note to Jonathan Halpern the importer here just in case no one knows.

If I'm not mistaken, it's in about the same range as yours Christian. The Mk1 is priced less, again, AFAIK.

Tube complement is 6 x 12ax7. With the 803s I have in there, that brings the price close to or at the DHT price. BTW mine is a Mk1 like the one shown in the back of the yellow Mk2.

Finding and maintaining 6 matched and balanced 12AX7's is not going to be an easy chore. If, you have a system, which uses many vacuum tubes, you might be better off going with a SS phono section. You can reach a point, where you have too many tubes in your system, which causes them to effect each other's sound. I got rid of a CD player with a tubed output because of this problem.

It looks like the Swiss Army knife of phono stages. Is it your favorite ?

I don't carry it but at this point in time. Yes it is. I have a lot of carts and a lot of originals from days where the standards were yet to be set. It checks all boxes, sonic and otherwise. The CH is not with me yet and I don't have the rack space for a Lamm Signature. I am a tube head so expect my bias to go this Swiss miss' way but I won't know until I compare. As usual at this level it will likely be two versions of good and preference will dictate. I am pretty sure that if I rotate again to CH then I will use the CH for the simple reason that the electronics are direct coupled and DC might be an issue. That scares me. Anyhow, those are the perks of being a distributor right? LOL.

There's a way around that. I don't need to sell you on Lamm, the Signature is really special. I'm running 6m power cables between the power supplies and the phono stage, no noise or hum at all with 110db speakers. I have the PS on a separate rack in the back of the room and just move the head unit from tt to tt. You can place the power supplies in a convenient pace too and just the phono stage in in your racks.

This is an absolutely beautiful piece of gear and I am certain that the sound is also quite nice; however, whether it really is the ultimate phonostage is another question. For the last few years I have use the Ypsilon in conjnction with their outboard transformer and other than a hum problem cured when I switched to the Odin 2 phono cable, I have been very happy with it; however, the only other phonostage which I have had in my system for comparison is the solidstate Einstein, so it would be very hard for me to say that the Ypsilon really is the best. It is clearly "one of the best" and meets my needs. I would like to hear others particularly the Doshi an the Vitus and certainly the silver transformer version of the Ypsilon, but I have to think that in many instances the cartridge chosen may make more difference.

Sometimes I think it's the chicken or the egg eg. the phono section vs. the cartridge.

Maybe next to digital, no component in the system has improved more than the phono section. Think about it. You might buy speakers, electronics, turntables and cartridges from yesteryear but would you buy a phonostage? None that immediately come to mind.
