        with a little help from a step up device ( transformer or head amp ) it can do MC carts too.

          Perhaps, but it is meant to be a entry level phono stage, for those wanting to get started in vinyl. I think VPI said it was retailing for around $100. Don't think those just getting into vinyl will purchase a MC cart. You never know I guess.
