Mike and his lovely wife Lyn have always been a friend to VPI. We met them years ago when Luminous Audio and VPI partnered up at Capital Audio. A few beers later and we were all in love with each other both from the sound we made together as well as the great time we had. I also hit the town with their son Nick and realized they are simply great people!

As time went on Harry/Dad and Mike starting talking engineer language and loved kicking ideas around. We started working on a new SDS and mentioned it to Mike. Harry and Mike got on the phone talked about it and in under a week we get this Frankenstein box that was thrown together with whatever Mike had in his basement. We fired it up and were blown away! Harry and Mike continued to talk and the shaping of a new product began. Than for kicks we gave Mike a broken Nomad to play with since they refused to take a new one. had told them if Mike can fix it it is theirs. He fixed and improved the Nomad and sent it back to us and made it sound like a table 3 times it's price! This is when we realized this man needs to be under our roof.

In addition, I'm very proud of staff and the origin of VPI products. I'm proud that right outside my office I have dedicated workers making the tables that will be shipped out. We have suppliers that do our wood work and machining, but everything is made in America then the parts/supply to my factory and we breath life into it. To further that vision of everything being made under the VPI roof it seemed obvious to have Mike part of the family to personally make every electronics related VPI product as well as wiring.

We have been building an electronics room just for Mike. We do have some other projects that are going to stem from Mike being on board.
Sounds like there will be some exciting news down the road from VPI!

Mike's phono stage has certainly received praise in the press! Know Mike has joined the forum so hope he can chime in from time to time!

Both Lynn and I are very excited to become part of the in-house VPI family!
From our first encounter with both Mat and Harry years ago we were taken by the enthusiasm and integrity that they bring to every aspect of VPI. Because of this they create great products and have assembled a great crew we are looking forward to being part of. I believe we bring a similar enthusiasm and a seasoned technical ability to complement an already great organization. We are already putting the finishing touches on the replacement for the SDS, and integrating the improvements into the Nomad design, and very much looking forward to helping implement the many ideas Harry and Mat have up their sleeves.

And we expect you have a few surprises up your sleeve too! Maybe Harry and Mat will resurrect that old project of building the phono stage into the turntable and shortening the path length.

Welcome to audionirvana Mike! And best of luck on the move!
