For my birthday in September, I ordered a Copper 3 Motor Set-up for my TW Acoustic Raven AC. When you buy a gift for yourself, you always get what you want. Yea!

Very pleased with the sound & the look. With the 3-motor set up, the bass is tighter, it is more dynamic and the sound-stage is nicely enhanced compared to the single motor set-up. My wife actually likes the aesthetics and is pretty amazed at how little it costs. Ha-ha.

Is it an AC synchronous motor running off mains, or is there some sort of power supply or dc motor?

TW Acoustics Raven AC uses a high torques DC Motor with a microprocessor based control unit. The motor control unit is pictured above & it is located 2 shelves below my turntable in the stereo rack.

When you buy a TW Acoustic Raven AC, the motor control unit has 3 inputs. If you have the single motor set-up like I had originally, you only utilize one of the 3 motor control inputs. The new 3 motor set-up utilizes all 3 inputs of the motor control unit. It is pretty well thought out & nicely user friendly. Thanks for the question.

Congratulations! It does make a difference! And I have to agree with your wife, it looks great! Now for next upgrade and even better performance, get the battery operated motor controller! :-)

Thanks for comment! Is the battery operated motor controller a bigger improvement then the full copper platter on the TW? It looks like you have both with your set-up. Nice!

-Unrelated-How do you like your Audio Desk Pro? With KLaudio going away, it looks like Audio Desk Pro or Degritter Ultrasonic are my choices for easy to use options. Looking for an easy to use unit that also drys the surface of the album. I have heard the Kirmuss Record Cleaning process works pretty well and is cost effective at $899; however, it looks too hands on for my taste and limited free time.
