            The motor and PSU is actually contained in the "pod" on the left.

                SME had more authority, clarity and slam! So I would go with that.
                The Abis is good enough if you don´t compare it to a more expensive arm.

                  Thanks for the comparison. I am somewhat curious about the Abis. I've heard from a few that have one and like it, Dudley gave it a fair review in a recent 'listening' collumn. However just looking at photos of it doesn't really draw me in.

                    It´s in every way a good tonearm except for setting SRA/VTA. And a bit odd looking.
                    I would go for maybe an SME 309 for more convenience. But if you are using carts like an Ortofon SPU this might be spot on.
