Interesting concept oddly many of us have a cloud service already. I can down load files to my phone via drop box and western digital drive cloud as well for free.
    Then there's ICLOUD storage
what am I missing that makes this good and pay for it
    analog stuff.

It's not a streaming service, but more like a slight variation on the Roon theme, with a touch of iTunes there.

Competition is good, I guess. Let's see how Roon reacts.

            Hi Frankie

Does it Offer Integration of Tidal Streaming Service? If yes it will be very interesting as it basically makes Tidal remote controllable. As Alex says a more affordable Roon.

Hi Billy - it is presently only connected to a Naxos-only catalogue service (available worldwide) and Barcelona-based, JazzMessengers service (available in Europe and Asia, ex-USA). BRIO can be integrated to 3rd party services, including TIDAL. We plan to integrate Xstream, Neil Young's music streaming service which will use OraStream's quality-adaptive streaming technology. BRIO is our way to get the same quality-adaptive streaming technology to music lovers directly.

All computer audio users will already have a music library/player either in software, such as JRiver Media Centre, Foobar or ROON, or in hardware. BRIO don't add more in terms of those functionality (other than it's a free-to-use audio player). Furthermore, given the prevalence of cloud streaming services, users do not need to stream from personal music libraries. Hence, for users that find little utility in access or remote control of the music library at full native resolution (from another location and audio device), there is less of a use case for BRIO.

It is useful however for users who want remote access to music in native resolution and need adaptive bit-rate quality streaming (to assure QoS streaming over wireless and cellular networks) "on-the-go" or "in-car". In these instances, BRIO works as a personal integrated audio hub (with its associated music library/player for local files and connected music services) that plays music at the highest quality audio possible.

The world needs another digital streaming service like we need another digital file type. How many all-you-can-stand digital buffets does the world need? Really. Oh, but I have better files. Oh, but mine light up a special light to let you know the files have been authenticated which means they have to be awesome (sure, just like being ISO certified means a company makes great products). Yeah, but my files are RBCD quality (woo hoo). But mine are DSD. But mine are PCM. Oh yeah, mine are DSD and PCM. It never stops...

Don't be angry it will never stop till we are gone and will continue for who is left. We have lived long enough for analog to become digital in our pockets.
I make no claim to us needing a new one but some of what you say was said about dsd.
Now for tidal it's a step up I love. Will I buy music in this format I'll try some for sure. But BRUCE said something that sticks to me. Be format agnostic and let us hear of its good not be negative or positive by format. He did not say all of the above but it's the jist and I feel he is right.

Digital to me is getting rather boring these days. computer this, files, formats, firmware updates, software updates, USB fix er uppers, ahhhhh. I enjoy streaming from Tidal via my Lumin, the wife likes it and streaming, it lets time pass as I work around the house, but I would rather play an LP when I want to really listen to music, maybe its my age, heck its even getting to the point my CD's are sounding better than my "downloads" and this digital vs analog crapo will never stop, its just like "which is better Ford or Chevy" nothing but press mumbo jumbo as far as I'm concerned. Today a new cartridge and tomorrow a new DAC Chip. whoopie freaking do. People that play up their expensive purchase all in the name of a format or medium can go fly a kite, people should be able to enjoy what they like, or whatever they have to play it on, after all I wasn't put on this earth to please some digital or analog music freak whose goal is to convince the world they are walking on the halo ground of music and people should follow their lead. . Ain't going to happen. Music is personal. Enjoy your music your way or find another hobby. Now for my cup of coffee.

Sure you didn't already drink the whole pot? Your first sentence I highlighted says it all and I agree. I'm still thinking about your Chevy or Ford analogy between analog and digital. Chevy and Ford are both cars, so that would be more like comparing VPI tables to Kronos tables. Analog and digital are more like comparing apples to hubcaps. But you're right, people should be able to enjoy what they like and I think they do. We just like to jab a spear in each other's asses from time to time. Hell, even digital people don't get along, but that's our wacky hobby. I learned awhile ago that it's ok to state your preference without trying to be a preacher of one stripe or another and tell people they are going to audio hell if they don't repent.
