  • Pioneer PD-95

    A fellow reviewer is moving and gave me a pioneer pd-95 a couple of days ago. Its an impressive beast!

    Is it CD or is it CD/SACD?

      Im embaressed to say I dont know. I stored temporarily at a friends office so its not home yet. But I think its CD only.

    PD-95 is a CD only, old school Pioneer player built like a tank, and it uses the stable platter drive mechanism. If it is a PD-S95, then it is only a CD transport. I would sure be pleased if someone gave one to me!

      Its PD-95 but I plan on using it as a transport only.

      Made from 1992 to 1995.

    Don't forget that the laser is in the upper part of the chassis. You therefore need to insert the CD with the shiny side up! It is the last high end CD player from Pioneer if you don't count the TAD D600.

      that's good to know, otherwise he may have thought there was something wrong with the player when it couldn't read the disc.
