All errors are annoying. The worst of either type are those that are intentionally committed.

^^ My guess is the sort of thing like brightness as opposed to sounding dull on top.

It all depends on how egregious the fault is rather than the cause. Either can be annoying to unlistenable.

Let’s think about a few examples of each.

            Commission

            Addition of noise=loss of transparency
            Upper midrange brightness
            Humped up bass
            Graininess
            Non-linearities
            Flat images

            Omission

            Loss of ambient space
            Reduced low level resolution
            Rolled off extremes
            Missing harmonic overtones
            Small soundstage
            Loss of Micro or macrodynamics

for example, I can listen to rolled off bass, but not boosted bass.

I agree for Myles' examples, B. But I have had extremely annoying errors of omission. Like buying an opera box set or a multirecord album and one of the records is missing. Or on a tape where the tape runs out in the middle of a song or movement, or a used tape which is blank. All have happened to me more than once. Much better to have a record set with an extra record (happened to me at least once).

Well according to Myles’s definition Omission bothers me more than co-mission. Transparency and soundstage to me are paramount to creating that believable “fake” live image.

All errors bother me. But as I get older, I am more tolerant of compromise. I am an optimistic listener, my glass is always half full.

A>B? or B>A? There is no simple black and white answer, just infinite shades of gray.

So true. My favorite comment is "end game" as in the last thing you'll ever want or could possibly need. I always chuckle because the idealistic view than that such a thing exist can only come from a short timer in audio. One of the joys of of this hobby is knowing there's always something around the corner--esp hardware--that will alter our perceptions (again!).

Haha. Yes. Every time I reach audio nirvana and say I’m done my wife smirks. She knows me well and the hobby at this point too.
